India's jowar production peaked at 7.9 million tonnes in 2007, then trended down for more than a decade, slipping below 5.0 million tonnes in 2015. After a low of 3.8 million tonnes in 2022, output recovered to 5.0 million tonnes in 2024, up 4.6% year on year.
