Nearly 23% of Indian Adults Are Hypertensive in 2019

Nearly 23% of Indian adults were hypertensive in 2019, and men outpaced women 24% to 21%. Sikkim at 38% and Punjab at 34% sit far above Bihar at 17%, a more than twofold spread across the States. Just 1% had normal readings while on medication, a wide treatment gap.
