India's Fruit Output More Than Doubles Since 2004

India's fruit cultivation area expanded from 5.0 million hectares in 2004 to 7.2 million hectares in 2024, despite a sharp drop to 6.1 million in 2014. Area then recovered to a new high. Output rose faster, climbing from 49 million tonnes to a record 119 million tonnes.
