India's foodgrain storage capacity fell from 740 lakh metric tonnes in 2014 to 710 lakh metric tonnes in 2015, then rose to a record 950 lakh metric tonnes in 2022. It dropped back to 710 lakh metric tonnes in 2023 before rising 13% to 870 lakh metric tonnes in 2025.
