India's Per Capita Power Use Sits at a Third of China's

India's per capita electricity use stands at 1,300 kWh a year, a third of China's 5,000 kWh and far below the US's 12,000 kWh. Within India, Gujarat and Punjab consume several times more per person than Bihar, where agriculture still dominates the economy.
