Recorded crimes against children in India nearly doubled over the decade, from about 94,000 cases in 2015 to 188,000 in 2024, dipping only during 2020. The crime rate climbed from 29 to 42 per 100,000, while the share of cases ending in a chargesheet slipped to 61%.
