India Cotton Output Falls 18% From 2019 Peak Levels

India's cotton production rose from 16,000 thousand bales in 2004 to 36,000 thousand bales in 2019, as sown area grew from 8,800 to 13,500 thousand hectares. Yield peaked at 510 kg/hectare in 2013, then eased to 440 by 2024 while output fell to 30,000 thousand bales.
